I can't answer you in a way that you would currently find useful, Ginger. How about unconditional friendship instead? Welcome to the board.

How can we know there is a God?
by defd inone way to determine whether there is a god is to apply this well-established principle: what is made requires a maker.
the more complicated the thing made, the more capable the maker must be.. for example, look around your home.
tables, chairs, desks, beds, pots, pans, plates, and other eating utensils all require a maker, as do walls, floors, and ceilings.

I'm a dyslexic agnostic - I'm not sure there is a dog.

how to respond?
by carla inin conversations in the past with him, i have asked him if it was a 'right teaching' at the 'right time'.
his answer was,'yes, at that time it was a right teaching'.
then goes on about how 'we are known for changing', new light, etc.. goes on about how scientist change their view as they learn more.

It is hard to argue with them diplomatically, for they do not obey the laws of diplomacy. However, he will probably agree that new light cannot contradict old light, only add to it.
The question of resurrection for the men of Sodom alone has flip-flopped back and forth since 1879. 1988 and 1989 were particularly confusing years, as different publications contradicted each other at the same time. -

The easiest way to leave, I think, is to cultivate unconditional relationships with "worldly" people. Doing so means you'll always have someone who cares about you.

What do you beleive?
by Ragnar1211 insince it is pretty clear what all of you do not believe i am wondering what you do beleive?
1) who is the creator of the universe?
3) why do we grow old and die?

Ragnar, you ask a lot of important questions. I freely admit that I do not know the answers. If I was to ask someone for the answers, should I ask someone honest or someone who lies?

Have you ever LIT A CANDLE - did it work?
by hamsterbait ini have a friend, paddy (rc - yeah i know, why would a dub have a satan worshiping friend).
she is so kind and caring.
amazingly she claims that when she lights a candle and prays for something it works.. maybe this is just another boring "does prayer work" question - but: .

Onions make you cry because of the irritant vapor released when cutting them. This vapor can be drawn to a nearby heat source, such as a burning candle. But the candle has to be close, and you have to minimize the vapor through proper cutting technique along with using a good knife.

your conversion into the Troof--what "did it" for you?
by M.J. inthose of us who never signed on often find it extremely hard to truly understand how one could come to believe in the message from wts as fact.
what attracted you?
what sealed the deal?

My mother joined because she had doubts about the Trinity doctrine. Also, she's crazy.

If you are suffering from depression or any mental illness, you really need to read this article on the high incidence of mental illness among JWs. http://www.ianag.com/religion/t-381070.html Insanity is said to be defined as repeating an action and expecting to get different results. The WTS is a perfect example of this. I've watched my mother go insane as the WTS actively encouraged her psychosis.
